Accounts & Subaccounts

On Reya, balances, margin, and positions are organised under accounts that belong to your owner wallet.

The account model

  • A single owner wallet can open as many perp accounts as you like (subaccounts), but exactly one spot account — the spot account is get-or-create, so the first spot action creates it and every later one reuses the same account.

  • Each account holds its own margin, isolated from your other accounts. A loss in one account cannot draw on the collateral of another.

  • Accounts are typed — perpetual (a main or sub perp account) or spot — and you can hold both perp and spot accounts under the same owner wallet.

Account IDs

Every account has a numeric accountId, and that is the identifier you use throughout the API:

  • It is signed into the EIP-712 OrderDetails you submit — see Signatures & Nonces.

  • It keys the wallet data channels and queries (positions, orders, executions, balances).

Spot vs perp from the id alone. Account IDs are namespaced by type: spot account IDs carry a 10,000,000,000 (1e10) offset, so an accountId greater than 10,000,000,000 is a spot account and anything at or below is a perp account.

The owner wallet and the signer are distinct from the account: the signer's key authorises actions and must be permissioned to act for the accountId — see Signer Authorization.

Margin isolation

  • Between accounts: isolated. Each account is its own margin domain.

  • Within an account: shared. Multiple positions in one account share that account's collateral and are evaluated together for margin and liquidation (see Margin System).

Use separate accounts to ring-fence strategies or risk; use one account to net positions against each other.

No position limits

There are no per-account or per-position size limits. Position size is bounded by margin and a global open-interest cap per market, aggregated across all accounts — see Markets & Assets.

Funding

Deposit collateral to an account to trade. Which assets are accepted as collateral is published by the assetDefinitions endpoint — query it rather than hard-coding a list.
