Incentives Overview

Core Principles

Reya Network's incentive mechanism rewards users who consistently contribute to the network's success in the most equitable way possible. Our program is built on four key principles:

  1. Rewarding Productive Behavior - We incentivize actions that contribute positively to organic network growth while discouraging unproductive "farming" behavior

  2. Balanced Rewards - We reward users based on their absolute contribution size while ensuring smaller but consistent contributors receive significant recognition

  3. Consistency Matters - We place special emphasis on continuous and consistent contributions to the Network

  4. Adaptable Framework - Our flexible incentive mechanisms can be adjusted to provide increased rewards during initial stages or whenever needed in the future

Incentive Mechanisms

Reya implements these principles through three core tools:

Experience (XP)

XP serves as a unified measure of all contributions to the protocol. This system allows us to:

  • Direct incentives toward specific parts of the Network as needed

  • Consolidate all user contributions into a single, comparable balance

  • Create a foundation for long-term engagement

Boosts

Boosts provide increased XP accrual rates to:

  • Reward special or early contributions

  • Maintain user engagement

  • Temporarily increase incentives when needed without altering underlying mechanisms

Ranks

Ranks classify users into tiers that are correlated with—but not entirely determined by—XP balance:

  • Users are ranked weekly based on their contributions

  • This system allows consistent smaller contributors to compete with larger ones

  • Only pre-announced special snapshots (constituting a "season") are used for major reward distributions

Reward Distribution

The incentive program distributes rewards regularly based on both XP accumulation and rank snapshots. This balanced approach ensures that:

  • Users receive rewards proportional to their contributions

  • A fair equilibrium is maintained between major contributors and smaller, consistent participants

  • The community as a whole benefits from continuous engagement with the Network
